Sweets and Treats opened for business in the historic village of Richmond in December 1985.

The emphasis has always been on providing old style sweets and lollies with good old fashioned personal service!
Therefore the lollies are displayed in rows and rows of glass jars and cheerfully weighed out on request.

Sweets and Treats specialise in sourcing from all over the world the lollies we fondly remember from our childhood. This includes a range of boiled lollies from Tasmania that are of the finest quality. Unique to this Gourlays range are Esmeraldas, Black Balls and Leatherwood Honey Drops that only Tasmanians will know as their own. The English Sweet range is always popular and so is the Dutch Licorice.
Also made in Tasmania, we stock a large range of fudge, truffles, hand made giant freckles and giant single letters of the alphabet made from thick chocolate covered with freckles!!!

Another thing Tasmanian’s can make really well is icecream. We are currently offering 21 flavours of icecream and sorbets served either in fresh crisp wafer or waffle cones or you can opt for a cup and spoon. We choose only the best quality and best flavours from a range of makers.

Our staff make the most delicious deluxe milkshakes and Sally went wild and invented a whole different mix of flavours that have become a favourite with our regular customers.

When the shop expanded in 1993 we were able to offer a delicious alternative to all those sweets by adding a Hot Nut Bar to cater for a more savoury palate. There are cashews and macadamias of course, but also more interesting titbits like curry peanuts, chilli/lime crackers, BBQ corn crunch and spicy rice bites…….

This is the shop of your childhood dreams!!! There is truly something for everyone, even a range of hand made, sugar free lollies. Whether you like it soft, hard, chewy, chocolate coated, sweet, sour, on a stick, in a bag, in a jar or straight in your mouth we have it for you!
